Featured Reviews

“Our first shoot, our engagements, was so much fun. She made our wedding day so special and captured every little detail that we could have possibly dreamed of. She went above and beyond all of our expectations (Alicia even put out a fire started by a candle at our reception with her bare hands…how many photographers do that?!) Super sweet and professional and we love all of the pictures captured by her. (: We highly recommend her!”

“I love artists of every kind but Alicia is one of a kind. You expect every professional photographer to have the equipment and maybe a regular location. Alicia’s business stands above the competition for several reasons. One is her creative eye. Have you seen her pictures? They are unlike any thing I’ve seen. Two is her space. Most professionals have a studio space or a regular beach/ outdoor location. Alicia has a studio AND a massive natural space on the property. I’ve never seen so many nooks and crannies.”

Posed Photos Are always included But Capturing The Honest Moments Creates Lasting Memories unique to your day

Los Angeles Wedding Photographer | Amethyst and Moss Studio

From quiet in-between moments to unforgettable celebrations, every chapter of your story is captured with intention.

What Makes Amethyst & Moss Different?

I quietly observe the moments as they unfold, and capture the real emotions. I give you gentle posing guidance that builds on interactions.

I’m not chasing content for my own social media accounts. I’d rather be behind the lens than in front of it. Your wedding day is about you.

You book me, you get me. Not someone I randomly found on Facebook who may or may not have a similar style, filling in without you knowing.

I get things right in camera as much as possible and have decades of professional photo editing experience, which helps streamline my turnaround time. No need to sit around for months wondering when your photos will finally be ready.

I give my couples gentle and off-beat guidance to get creative with the posed photos so they feel more natural.

I shoot double exposures that weave two moments of your day into a single frame. I love using creative filters that give me a finished in-camera result that can’t be easily replicated with editing.

When I book a wedding that involves travel, I always plan to arrive at least a day early so there’s no stress about potential flight delays.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will you edit all of our pictures?

With over 20 years of professional editing experience, I bring the same care and intentionality to every image that I bring to the session itself. All final photos are edited for color, saturation, exposure, and sharpness. I give each gallery a film-inspired look, tailoring the edits to fit the unique mood and setting of your wedding. Every gallery includes light retouching, blemish removal and gentle skin softening, as a natural part of my editing process. Additional options such as consistent body slimming are available as an upgrade.

Do you work with assistants or other photographers?

Honestly? I’ve found I work better solo. I’ve tried the second shooter thing, and more often than not it meant redundant images, the extra time it takes to coordinate/direct someone else, the chance of them not showing up (it unfortunately happened several times when I needed an assistant to help me when I was recovering from my c-sections), and one very close call where I nearly got tripped during a ceremony.

I like my space and I like being responsible for every frame myself. It’s honestly easier for me to just move quickly and get everything I want than constantly directing someone to make sure they are documenting everything with my style. One thing about me that guests often mention is that I move around so quickly and quietly that it’s like I’m teleporting around to get all of the different angles and viewpoints.

That said, if your guest list is 200 or more, or your getting ready locations are far apart, a second shooter actually makes sense. It’s available as an add-on.

Do you also offer video services?

Yes! I offer a variety of options for both edited cinematic video and content creation reels. Options include content creation reels, digital Super 8 style video, film Super 8 video and edited cinematic video.

Do you have insurance?

I do! Just let me know if your venue requires a certificate of liability, and I’ll send that over to them.

What are the film images?

I have a curated collection of true vintage and vintage-style film cameras that create the distinctive, timeless look only film can deliver. Some of my film cameras were even passed down through several generations of artists in my family! Once the film is developed, I have the negatives professionally scanned so those images can be added right into your online gallery alongside your digital photos. From there, you’re welcome to order prints directly through your gallery or from any lab you prefer. I also have several Polaroid and Polaroid-style instant cameras available as well. After your wedding images are completed, I will mail you the film negatives so you can store them as a backup to your digital files.

Do You Travel?

Yes! While I’m currently based in Los Angeles, I travel to New Orleans whenever possible. My wedding package pricing is broken down by region, and New Orleans weddings and elopements are included in my “home base” region pricing, with no hidden travel fees. I also offer coverage for additional areas throughout the Continental U.S.

Please note, my standard gear kit is quite heavy (probably close to my body weight when it’s all added up). Locations that are not easily accessible via car or that require extensive stairs/hills may not be a viable option for me. I love an adventure though so you are welcome to inquire for custom package options if you’re planning something unique!

How long will it take to see our photos?

Sneak peeks are usually ready within 72 hours. Posed guest photos and select couple’s portraits can also be air-dropped on site with the Crescent Collection. My editing workflow is pretty dialed in, so the rest of your photos are usually ready within 2–6 weeks (most often around the two-week mark!). I love the editing process, so I’m typically diving in the very next day. Film development and scanning usually take a bit longer (about 4 weeks for film), and video editing can take 4–6 weeks.

What’s included in your packages?

My wedding packages include a detailed planning process, sneak peeks, download gallery of edited photos, and an edited video highlight. A photo-only package is also available for elopements and micro-weddings. A variety of additional upgrades are also available to customize your coverage.

How do we proceed to booking?

I usually recommend starting with a phone consultation, but if the website has already answered all of your questions, feel free to send me an email through the contact page and I’ll send over the booking form. Once you’ve filled it out with the details I need for your contract, I’ll email your contract and retainer invoice. After that’s all taken care of, I’ll send over your planning questionnaire and the rest of your welcome information.
